Adapteva Parallella Has Arrived
(MICROENGINES): After waiting almost a year, I finally have my pre-order Parallella 16 with GPIO and Zynq 7010. Taken its time, lets see if it is worth it. This board is a ARM A9 Dual 1Ghz, 1Gb RAM single board computer about the same size as the Raspberry Pi with Gigabit Ethernet, USB 2.0, Micro SD, HDMI and GPIO. Where it gets interesting is it Epiphany coprocessor which effictively gives it 16 cores (or 64) in 5W of power letting it do 16 things at once. Programs need to be written to use this properly, if it works as advertised it looks very promising for parallel computing. READ MORE
